How come in most popular fiction when you are a ghost, or spirit you get to take your cloths with you?
Is it that we actually believe we are so attached to are garments that they will faithfully follow our spirit, that they are so tied to our self concept that we will them into existence, or are artists just unwilling to draw naked spirits?

It's not a dumb question at all. I've often thought the same thing. I particularly like Pratchett's explanation though. I can’t find the exact quote, but I think it’s something like the spirit holds on to its own mental self image to create a form for itself.
